Now, Gumbo Stu, I don't claim to be worldly but I was under the impression that you Irishmen spoke English! Is that some kind of little used dialect?
Maybe I'm being presumptous but I swear if I say that aloud and kind of slur it like I have had a few too many beers, it sounds like "You are why I get my tongue all twisted." Do I need a to show my embarassment for interpreting it as that? |

Just for the record here....Ive been nicknamed Jahnee well before i knew Morgans last name..Just to let ya'll know i'm not gay for Morgan or anything...not that there is anything wrong with that if thats what you are into...

If that isn't the truth! I fancy myself a grammar and speech hawk but I would be the first to admit I disgrace the English language the way it is meant to be spoken! |

We had these fellas from North Carolina staying with us for a few weeks (I work at a hotel) and on average, I would have to have them repeat what they were saying THREE times!! One guy was really hard to understand. They just had such a loping type of drawl where everything kinda ran together. They were the sweetest guys and we loved having them here but we would feel so bad saying, "Huh? What did you say?" after everything they said. It never got any easier the whole time they were here. I'm sure we sounded like some straight Yanks to them...I know when I say Minnesota, it sounds way different than when I hear others not from the northern parts say it. The "ota" part get drug out, "Minnesoaaatah". Its funny, when people call to make reservations, before they even tell me, I can nail a Wisconsin or Minnesota accent, yet I know that is the way I sound to others!

| shoot i have had people ask me to count for them my accent is so bad but its not the most southern i've heard to me bt to somebody from up north I bet its pretty bad, we like ta leave out letters and run words together. When i was in highschool we had some foreign exchange students from Brazil image taking english class in the south when you are from a different country.... |

| Hmm, wonder why I thought Minnesota. I love Wisconsin! We drove to Monroe one day just to get some decent curds. (I love those squeaky bastards). I even have a Badger hoodie already! |

Hmm, a new thread about beer anyone? What's your favorite, what's not worth the cash, what's just plain weird. Anyone from Portland? Supposedly, it is craft beer heaven. |

There was sorta one that was started in relation to Fat Tire beer.... and then spun off onto other beers across the country. It could always be revived with a little of your help....
