Hi all. I've scoured the forum and couldn't find the chord progression to Can't Get Right Blues. Love this song. Can anyone help me out? Much thanks.

I like you.

It's C D7 G(7)* C mostly isn't it?

Great tune Smile

*the G7 is at the end of that bar just before it drops back to C (and vice versa G7 to G before the C works well sometimes)

And the lyrics are something like this

You play the C D7 G C pattern twice through the verse and then keep goin til you bust Wink

Now Listen Here
Everytime I talk about tomorrow I'm a-thinkin' 'bout yesterday
Everytime I go for a ride y'know I end up walkin' away
Everytime I feel like jukin' I lose my dance hall shoes
Everytime I wanna make love I end up makin' the blues

I just can't get it right (no no no)
Get it right (yeah yeah)
Love your do-right mama, love your do-right man
Now won't you walk right over to the promised land
Won't you get it right (no no no)
Get it right (yeah yeah)
Well a pig can't swim and a chicken can't fly
But we'll all be angels in the by and by

......... Get it at the razors edge (at the ball y'all, have a ball)

Everytime I wash my feet I put on dirty socks
Everytime I'm sleepin in I end up watching the clock (tick tock)
Everytime I'm workin' they say I'm loafin' in bed
Everytime I'm smokin' I end up chewin' instead

I just can't get it right (no no no)
Get it right (yeah yeah)
Love your do-right mama, love your do-right man
Now won't you walk right over to the promised land
Won't you get it right (no no no)
Get it right (yeah yeah)
Well a pig can't swim and a chicken can't fly
But we'll all be angels in the by and by

Everytime I court a woman I end up with a friend
Everytime I'm on high times I'm just walkin' (or loafin') them streets again
Everytime kill a duck (or chicken) it turns out it was a goose
Everytime I'm tight on the money I spend it like I'm loose

I just can't get it right (no no no)
Get it right (yeah yeah)
Love your do-right mama, love your do-right man
Now won't you walk right up to the promised land
Won't you get it right (no no)
Get it right (yeah yeah)
A pig can't swim and a chicken can't fly
But we'll all be angels in the by and by

Cheers pittsyltucky

the duck/goose line makes much more sense and "I'm on high times"

Is this an original?

Thanks folks. I'm up at school without a copy of the tune and I was having trouble pulling it out of my memory. I didn't realize it was an original either. Fantastic!

it's a great tune to play, so thanks to you for the Prompt.

That just leaves Sally Anne from "live" and Down South Blues from "Eutaw" needing lyrics methinks. Of the four available albums anyways.
