I'm currently in Nashville for college, but I actually grew up in Washington. My dad's family spent many years in SE Kentucky. Is anyone here from Clay County?

I first heard about Old Crow last November on a visit to Sewanee-University of the South, where, apparently Wagon Wheel is their unofficial school song, which of course means they really really enjoy drunkenly trying to sing along to it at frat parties. Actually at first I didn't even like the song, but I listened to some more crow and now I'm hooked. My favorite songs would have to be James River Blues, Raise a Ruckus, and Tell It To Me. From Pusher, I really like That Evening Sun and Methamphetamine.

I am a big auto-racing fan and my other music interests range from the Seattle indie scene to Swedish rap (only type of rap I like).

I know how you feel about the frat party/wagon wheel phenomena. Oh well, you can't help that. The good thing is, you've hit on a place where the good times roll all the time! Smile Welcome to the murder, where you'll find most folks know a lot more about the band and music! Look around and have a blast.

Hey man, I ran a few Cross Country races in Clay County when I was in middle school. I was a Harlan Green Dragon. Tremble in fear! haha

Welcome!

Green Dragons?? Really Rodge?? Anywho - - Welcome to the murder fiorano. There are many threads in here about Wagon Wheel.... like it, hate it. I like what Ketch said in a recent interview - - sometimes it is good to play something that you know that everyone in the crowd will like. I think they have a love/hate relationship with the song too.

I'm a freshman at Vandy. I have to say I'm quite ashamed of the horrible Pusher review in the vandy paper, classic example of the Wagon Wheel phenomenon. I have yet to hear the song at one though. My first day on campus I heard Big Time in the Jungle playing in our student center though.Very Happy

Hmmm, I'm not really sure where Harlan is, I'm not familiar with the area. My dad lived in Manchester and Oneida in Clay County. Never been there but hope to visit someday. Is the musical saw still a popular instrument down there? I recently watched a home video from a couple decades ago of the funeral ceremony of my greatuncle in Oneida where they played Ave Maria on the organ and saw; most genuinely beautiful music I've ever heard in my life.
