but here goes....

As I mentioned in my first post on the Live board I attended my first OCMS show this past Saturday after having been turned on to their music a little over a year ago. I've been lurking on this website for a long time and finally decided to register and ask a question.

Because I value the music of OCMS and the people who appreciate their music I was wondering what other bands you all listen to in the same genre? I love their sound and would love to find other bands who have the same "sound", "vide", or whatever you want to call it.

Sorry, I know this is an OCMS board but I don't think I would value another's opinion the same as I would a fellow Old Crow fan from this board.

Thanks all,

Thanks for the link to the other thread.

Sorry for starting another. I guess I didn't go a very good search!

Some of the bands in the other thread sound really good.

Does anyone here listen to Trampled By Turtles?

that's the second time I've heard their name today...

EDIT got it - banjo player Dave Carroll played on one of Charlie Parr's albums.

Phew!

Yeah I plan on picking that one up the day it comes out.

I don't know much about them but they are going to be in Knoxville the first of November and as it stands right now I'm planning to make the drive from Lexington to see the show. I hope it is worth it.

I missed them by a week this summer when I was out west (in canmore BC).
I hope they come back to Canada! OCMS too for that matter!
