LIZA JANE

Oh Liza, oh Liza, won’t you open up your door
Before I have to walk on in with my old forty-four

[Chorus]
Oh Liza, little Liza Jane
Oh Liza, she got on that train

Oh hang me, oh hang me, and I’ll be dead and gone
It’s not the hangin’ that I mind, it’s stayin’ in jail so long

[Chorus]

If the river ‘s made of whiskey, and I was a duck
I’d sink right to the bottom, and I never would come back up

[Chorus]

I’m workin’ on a plantation, i’m plowin’ that sugar cane
I’m makin’ barrels of molasses to sweeten little Liza Jane

[Chorus]

Chords anyone???

I think I plucked it out around the bonfire this weekend... If it's in "A", then slap that capo on 2...

G........................................................C....
Oh Liza, oh Liza, won’t you open up your door
...D..........................................................G....
Before I have to walk on in with my old forty-four
.................................
Oh Liza, little Liza Jane
D................................G.....
Oh Liza, she got on that train

WOW. The boys haven't played this for a long time. it's not listed in any setlists in the LIVE section. Does anyone remember hearing this at a show?

ON IT!!! Man on man - -- I am bummed because I think Asheville will be the only show we can make. It is going to cost us over $600 to fly home for Christmas.... and then the cost of boarding the dog while we are gone. We will actually be in Asheville for a couple of days though... I have always wanted to see Biltmore at Christmas and I have free tickets, so we will spend a couple of days there. Oh ya... and then this is a thing called a wedding that we are paying for too!

Thanks, J -- the Em does sound a little better... I was picking notes during the "oh liza, little liza jane" part and just felt it was still in G since the end note I plucked was part of the barred G chord -- but it ALSO is part of Em when you play that chord in the "D" form...
