I can't believe I just found this forum after many years of listening...
I first heard Old Crow in 2003 I believe. Enjoyed them ever since. I first saw them live in Bristol, England of all places. I was on a college study abroad trip in July 2005 and happened to discover they were playing in the town where I was. Not only that, but it was about a 100 person crowd at most at the "St. Bonaventure Social Club." Got to meet them afterwards, was anxious to tell them a Tennessean was in attendance so far from home (I'm originally from Memphis). It was a unique experience hearing their style of music performed for a bunch of Brits that seemed to love it as much as we do. Their live show definitely sells them even more than their albums.
Graduated in 2006 and moved to Dallas. Had a ticket to see them a year or 2 ago, but had to leave town for business and sadly sold my tickets. That sucked. BUT... this time I'm going to see them at the Granada Theater here in a few days. Very excited to hear all their new stuff live. Back in 2005 it was just the OCMS album plus Eutaw and older songs.
Looking forward to reading through a lot of information here on the forum.

Definitely planning on taking some pics and video clips during the show!
As for the England concert, they were just surprised that someone who wasn't British was there. I met Morgan, Willie, and Ketch but didn't say too much because they were busy taking down their equipment. I went outside to wait for my host family to pick me up. Ketch stopped for a little bit to talk then I said I had to get a picture so my dad (also a fan) would believe me. He said he looked too creepy in the first picture we took so we snapped another. They were just travelling in one of those oversized tall Eurovans doing UK tour before the big bluegrass festival in Birmingham, England.
I'll see about posting a few photos from that show when I get home. |
