Hey all! I received an autographed guitar from The Big Surprise Tour. It was autographed by all of the musicians for us to auction off to raise money for my handicap son, Zachary. We are trying to save money for a wheelchair ramp van. We are having a benefit next weekend, Sunday September 20th in Tega Cay, SC called Rock-n-Roll for Zachary. Its an all day event with 13 bands, raffles, silent auctions, kids games/prizes and activities and takes places at 2 different bars...a bar crawl! I was going to list the guitar as one of the silent auction items but I am unsure what to even ask for it. The guitar itself is only worth about $100, its a Yamaha SJ-180 with hard case. The guitar is autographed by Old Crow, The Felice Brothers, Gillian Welch and Dave Rawlings Justin Townes Earle with Cory Younts and special guest Benmont Tench. Along with the signatures it also says The Zachary R. Beachley Special 8/13/09.

I have uploaded pictures of the guitar on my son's website but it wouldn't let me post the link since I'm new. Please send me a PM and I will share with you the link to the pics.

Please take a look at it and let me know what you think I should put as the starting bid on the guitar. Also, if you are interested in the guitar, please email me.

Also, if you are in the Charlotte, NC or Fort Mill, SC area, please come out to the benefit Rock n Roll for Zachary on Sun, Sept 20th at Steve's Bar & Grille and McHale's on Gold Hill Road, Tega Cay, SC. Email me for more info.

Thanks a bunch!
Nikki

Those old guitars were well built.
You'd have trouble finding a new guitar in that price range that sounded as good!

good luck with the auction!

Nope no luck at the benefit. The highest bid was $100 and I thought that was way too cheap. I am going to list it on ebay very soon.

Yea, I'm sure you'll get a lot more on Ebay. Let us know when you list it and we will promote it.

I just listed the guitar on ebay. I was unsure how much to even ask for it so I settled on a price with free shipping. I hate trying to work out shipping costs and give quotes so I always like to increase the price just a little to cover the packaging and shipping and just do free ship.

I hope we can sell it. We think we found a good used handicap van for Zachary but we need more money!

I would put Felice Brothers Gillian Welch instead of (& Others autographed guitar) in the main discription to help you get a better audience for your auction and for .50 cents subtitle -- (it's free right now) put the & others autographed guitar... that way Felice Fans & Welch fans will find your auction... and take off the part about it bieng a little high it is'nt for an autographed guitar tell em this is a steal instead.

I don't know if you got the part about changing the a little high part to this is a steal but that would also help you.

I didn't see that part but it actually says "the action is a little high" meaning the action on the guitar is high because it has a pickup installed on it.

Do you think I should have asked more for it? I was clueless on what sort of price to put on it but if I need to up it, TELL ME! We could use all the $ we could get for Zachary's needs.

Oh on the Action part I would omit that part of info the new owner can have that adjusted as for the should it be more... you have the buy it now price which is what you would settle for I would leave it like it is if you get a bid it may go higher than the $600.00 or someone may opt to buy it now.

You may also want to put in the part about Zackery needing a wheelchair ramp van as to why you were given the Guitar by the crew sometimes you find people act out of charity more than desire of an object.

I wish I could but ebay would shut me down then. I can't say anything about it being an auction for charity or give Zachary's website or anything or they will end my auction. They have done it so many times to me in the past.

I did and got no reply from the buyer from the US and did not second chance offer the international buyer because I can't do free shipping on an international sale. The listing said that international shipping was not available anyways.
