I have been here since umm..yesterday.

I haven't introduced myself, but I am Sean from Knoxville, TN. I assume most people know where that is, so I will leave it at that. I make my living a procurement specialist at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (part of the US Dept. of Energy) in the Atomic City, Oak Ridge, TN. If you want a brief education on the Secret City and what it's about, you can check out wikipedia

If you don't give a damn about it, I understand....

I am a wannabe banjo player, as I have one, but I can't play it. Maybe one day I will. My passion is old time music (Dock Boggs, Jimmie Rodgers, Blind Willie McTell, New Lost City Ramblers, Roscoe Holcombe, Wade Ward, etc...).

I look forward to hanging around here for a while.

Same with me. After just over a year of trying to teach myself I'm finally able to play four songs without reading the music or making so many mistakes that it doesn't sound like a song anymore. I'm thinking about a few lessons to help push me forward a bit.[/quote]

I took lessons for clawhammer banjo, and practiced like hell. then I got this other job and no time for practice, so the lessons had to go.

The "secret" in the Secret City was let out shortly after the first atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki to end WWII. After that, the Secret City was named the Atomic City.

Welcome Pope. You'll fit in fine around here. I've seen ya around on the Avett & old Everybodyfields forums. And that Justin Townes Earle blog you've put together is badass.
