I've been lurking for awhile and even posted a couple of times, but realized I neglected to introduce myself in the Arrivals thread.
Obviously, like everyone else here I'm a fan of OCMS. I first went to see them at the 9:30 Club in DC after my brother recommended them to me. As a fan of traditional bluegrass, at first I was skeptical but then found I really enjoyed their songs and style. Besides seeing a couple shows at the 9:30 Club, I've managed to see them a couple times on vacation. First, on a trip to Napa, CA, my wife and some friends caught them in San Fran. Then my wife and I saw them in Buffalo on our way up to Niagara Falls. The Buffalo show was my favorite because it was a smaller venue and not jammed pack like it was at the other shows. Most recently, we caught them in Charlottesville this summer on the Big Surprise tour. |

Thanks for the warm welcome!
That's cool some of you were at the exact same shows. I forgot to include I also caught OCMS once in Richmond, VA. The sound quality of the venue wasn't the best, but it was a fun show and I especially liked when they played a great version of Are You from Dixie. I was hoping that would've been on their latest album, but oh well...
That reminds me, I like how Ketch always talks about the area they're playing in. He made a good joke about how Richmond reminded him of New Orleans... it's dirty, smells bad, and floods a lot... or something like that.
Thanks again, |
