ALABAMA HIGH-TEST

Alabama High-Test
Got me in a big mess
Higher than a wildcat
Runnin' from the wolfpack
They gonna put me in the slammer
If they catch me with that Alabama High-Test

Sixty-Five south-bound
Cruisin' with a half-pound
Blue lights spinnin' 'round
Better put the hammer down
Dirt road, Tennessee
Ain't nobody stoppin' me
Short run, state line
Gotta keep makin' time
Alabama High-Test

Huff paint, cocaine
Playin' chicken with a train
Smack-dab, meth lab
Mellow out, rehab
Percocet, cigarette
I don't need no more of that
But give me some down-home
Dixie-fried home-grown
Alabama High-Test

Alabama High-Test
Alabama High-Test
Got me in a big mess
Runnin' from the wolfpack
They gonna put me in the slammer
If they catch me with that Alabama High-Test

--break--

Drug bust, disgust
Plead with the circuit judge
Son, don't be coy
Send ya up the river, boy!
Jump suit, chain gang
Shackles on my feet again
Standing on I-Sixty-Five
Wishing I was rolling by
With Alabama High-Test

Alabama High-Test
Alabama High-Test
Got me in a big mess
Higher than a wildcat
They gonna put me in the slammer
If they catch me with that Alabama High-Test

Sweet! I've been wanting those bad. First time I heard that song was in Huntsville and I've been jonesing for it since. It sounds pretty simple, but I haven't heard it but 3 times. Figured out any chords for that, Pittsy?

dont have a guitar on me right now --- i've been starting in A - there's G and D in there, too --- that should be enough to get you going...

if it helps -- it goes to G on "put" -- "put me in the slammer if they..." and i'm thinking to D on "catch me..."

i think you should probably get it with what i gave you... if not i'll chart it out later on -- still on the road...

Thanks! That did help. I can pick it out pretty good with that, although not at full speed! Laughing If you do ever chart it up, put it up here so I can see how bad I'm off...

Does anyone find a slight resemblance to Subterranean Homesick Blues in this song? Or am I just crazy?

I can definitely hear Dylan influence in this song. Just compare it to Subterranean Homesick Blues.

I don't think its to much of a stretch comparison is it?
