I like the pics, they're badazz! Reminds me of every time I've ever seen that band- a bit hazy, but you can tell it was a good time!
Who is playin' drums? |

Dave (I can't remember his last name) He has been playing with them off and on since Simone stopped playing with them. I have never saw Simone with them its always Dave or Seacher, but he does a reaally good job. |

Slightly considering going to this:
http://www.ommegang.com/?event_view_id=233&event_view=2010-07-24&mcat=3&scat=0
I highly reccomend going out if anyone else is considering it. Ommegang is a great brewery in a very idyllic setting. I would be all over it if I wasn't going to be making the drive down there the following weekend, and if the Felice brothers weren't playing in Buffalo on Monday. |

Somebody will, but not me. Arcata is over 8 hours away. I will get to see both of those fine acts, and more, at Hardly Strictly Oct. 1-3. The lineup isn't posted yet, but they do have a scrawl of pictures running across their site.

Saw them on Monday in Buffalo. Great show as expected. I had a few too many beers to assemble any type of accurate set list, but I know they played the following among others:
White limo
Roll on Arte
Ballad of Lou
River Jordan
Chicken Wire
Whiskey
Greatest show on earth
Take this bread
They ended with Penn Station and a bunch of douches took it upon themselves to jump on stage. The band didn't seem to mind much, or at least they realized they couldn't do much about it, but it caused the song to kind of fizzle out since they barely had enough room to stay standing on the stage. James was also having trouble with his accordion throughout the night, and replaced it with the keyboard for a few songs. At the end of the night I asked Ian if they were ever going to tour with Gill for 'Piety and Desire', he replied..."nope". |

White Limo is definately one of the funner tunes. Did they do a song called Slow Down, Little John? I love that one... |

White limo is one of my favorites too. I don't think they played Slow Down, Little John. Although they did play one song I didn't recognize, I guess there is a chance it was this one. |

They played it last summer only once from what some felicefanatics told me - and there's one lousy youtube video of it. I say lousy because it's distorted loud, but it gives you an idea. Great song. Wish they'd cut it and release it on something. Or that a good live recording would surface. |

Somebody want to tell me where to start with them?
The song gumbo linked to was fine and dandy, but I need more. First album to start with? Best songs? |

you heard their daytrotter session? It smokes!
http://www.daytrotter.com/dt/the-felice-brothers-concert/20030295-3737659.html
They're one of those bands that I'll take live over studio ANY day, so I would also suggest venturing out and catching them when they come near |

As far as I'm concerned it is all good stuff.
Adventures of the Felice Brother Vol. 1 and Mixed Tape are good starting spots though.
Best starting spot... a live show with Bean at your side... ask Kitty, she knows how that works. |

ozark, downloaded and thanks.
Bean, all good is just a daunting start! But I'll see what I can do.
Hey, maybe the Gods will smile, I'll get the dream internship this year (instead of last year's almost) and I'll be in DC all summer. And then yes, by gawd, it shall be done. |

OK a few highlights from each of the available albums.
(There are also 3 'self released and sold at shows' albums which you can sometimes find hanging out in dark and mysterious corners of the internet: Iantown, Through these Reins and Gone, and Adventures, which Jumpin Bean mentioned. They sometimes show up on Ebay too). Several tracks from each of these were included on their respective following 'official' release.
so without repeating any songs from that great daytrotter session ...
Iantown
Through These Reins and Gone
Tonight At The Arizona
Christmas Song
Roll On Arte
Mercy
Adventures Of the Felice Brothers Vol.1
The Felice Brothers
Frankies Gun
Wonderful Life
Whiskey In My Whiskey
Yonder Is the Clock
Cooperstown
Run Chicken Run
Boy from Lawrence County
Mix Tape
Marie
White Limo
Ahab
actually i think Mix tape is only available at shows or from their website .. is that still true? |

new album out may 10
from http://www.americansongwriter.com/2011/03/felice-brothers-ready-celebration-florida/
The Felice Brothers will release their latest LP, Celebration, Florida, on their new label Fat Possum,
on May 10. The album, partially recorded in a Beacon, New York high school library, marks a sonic departure for the roots rock band, as they promise to bring 808s, synths, and acid jazz this time around.
The album’s press release fleshes out the story:
Celebration, Florida casts interweaving scenes of dreamy characters and stories, including: a young girl who crimps her hair and spies her dead father driving down the road (the cinematic, roaring “Fire at the Pageant”); shady degenerates who get lost in a mystery surrounding a car (the clamorous groove and carnival horns of “Honda Civic”); a Wall Street scandal hits a little too close to home (the climactic, thunderous synth/sample/drum machine-laden “Ponzi”); and a late night host recounting his rise to fame for his honeybee while traveling in a private jet (the elegantly melancholic, rickety gait of “Dallas”).
Celebration, Florida track listing:
1. Fire at the Pageant
2. Container Ship
3. Honda Civic
4. Oliver Stone
5. Ponzi
6. Back in the Dancehalls
7. Dallas
8. Cus’s Catskill Gym
9. Refrain
10. Best I Ever Had
11. River Jordan |
