I was searching for OC lyrics when I happened upon this forum. Awesome! Hi everyone! Off to a bumpy start figuring out how this site works, being an old quasi-Luddite, but I'll figure it out!

I first heard OCMS in either '99 or 2000 when they were busking at the Eugene Saturday Market. i bought a copy of "Greetings From Wawa" from them, all DIY stylie with xeroxed CD cover and sharpie labeling on the CD itself. I still have the CD, but lost the cover a long time ago. :( It is still my favorite of their recordings. Sheer blazing bluegrass genius!

Way back in the late 90s, The Kitchen Syncopators (who were then called The Songsters, then The Cardboard Songsters) were denizens of the Whiteaker neighborhood in Eugene, and several of them at one time or another rented the little shack in my backyard. They even played a show by the campfire back there, once, and played my 33rd birthday party with cardboard props and all. Now Gill Landry is playing with OCMS. It has been fun to watch him do so well, and the other guys all have great solo projects, as well. The Cardboard Songsters even played Pickathon last year (minus Gill).

Anyhoo, a little of my history, there. Glad to "meet" all ya'll!

p.s. If you're interested in checking the other guys out, look up:
Celery Hauntings
Huck Notari, and
Woody Pines

Hi Gumby!

cool name Wink

and great tales from your backyard. thanks for them. The Kitchen Syncopators are well respected around here, bet on that.
To upload a picture (avatar is the tech name) look up to the banner picture of the boys on TV in the bar. underneath there is a line of links - click on Profile and scroll down.

Maybe you found that and got stuck on the sizes thing 160x160 and less than 20kb

let us know what help you need and we'll sort it out.

I was living in Eugene then too! I wonder if our paths ever crossed.

Welcome to the board.

I wonder, too, Jumpin' Bean! Did you ever hang out at Out of the Fog coffeehouse? If so, we probably did... I managed that place for its first few years.

Nope, but with our similar musical tastes I bet we crossed paths at Sam Bond's, Saturday Market or a house party somewhere...

Haha, I've only gone to parties that are in houses. Well, there are receptions, too, I suppose, but I wouldn't call them parties. And we call parties outdoors picnics or camping. And then there's fellowship after Mass, but I sure wouldn't call that a party!
