I've been playing out lately with a band called the Fake McCoys. Our lovely lead singer has been Singing (and sunning) it up in Tenerife the last few weeks, so we have had to shift gears.

This is me and Sandy out busking this week. We think of ourselves as a jugless jug band and hope to get some footage with the bass and fiddle players soon!

We have a few gigs lined up but nothing in the UK as yet, I'm afraid Razz

If your gigs aren't in the UK then where are they? I'd love to get to one... you all are awesome.

You'd be mightily welcome, Jumpin' Bean!
Mostly they are in the Republic of Ireland. Independent from the UK since 8000 BC (apart from a few of the years between 1169 and 1922).

Actually they are all in Ireland so far. Which isn't so far for us, but is a fair trek for you! Wink

We are booked that weekend at the electric picnic!

Yes! No! This is highly cool and uncool all at the same time! Yay for you getting to share the bill with Edward Sharpe & TMZs and Toots and the Maytals etc etc, but not cool that we won't get to meet!!

Will be good exposure for the band though and I really hope it'll go well!! If you're ever tempted by the Edinburgh gig on the following Wednesday, you've got a place to stay for sure.

haha! yeah "oh we're not the jet-set, we're the old chevrolett set"
Thanks for the offer, missyjay, i shall speak with my logistics adviser. Smile

I'm looking forward to seeing Toots, and Jimmy Cliff, and The Unthanks, and even Sinead O'Connor! And i'm sure i could appreciate Edward and co. in that context but apart from that handful of gigs on the stage I'm hoping the real fun will be in the campsites. Smile

EDIT: those last two smiley's are supposed to be happy ones!

I can see now that I will be spending a fair bit of time at the Salty Dog stage at the Picnic this weekend. A fine selection of piratically inclined musical extravaganzas.
Huey and The Hobgoblins look like a good bet.

We're playing at the Living Food Emporium again and also at the Coyote Moon Cafe, which looks a lot snazzier than it sounds!

Five gigs in three days but at least they'll all on the same site this year! Should be fun!

we tried to make a video to celebrate!!

The hell with try, you did indeed make a video, and I was entertained.

If you stay up late enough check out Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros.
There are a bunch of them and they seem to enjoy their hippie fun.
Of course I saw them follow OCMS at the RRT show so my mood was joyful
and their set fit that mood well, especially when Jade sang.

hey thanks, lbrod, and yes I'd noticed the Edward Sharpe gang are playing the Salty Dog stage (which is actually an old fishing boat in the woods) so i reckon i'll catch em there. staying up late is the only option as sleep can only be had after about 3 or 4am and before 2pm when gigs start up again. That reminds me .... to pack my ear plugs ....

and yes i think i caught a video of jade on the railroad tour. worth staying up late for.

Wow. I love how that African mask looks with that effect. I feel like there should be dancing skeletons.

Sounds darn good too.

I made the mask for a masked wedding reception a couple of years ago. It does have mojo!
