Whelp Folks, my radio show will no longer be on WRVU Nashville ...

After jerking us around for over seven weeks, the VSC has decided to only let Vanderbilt Students participate at WRVU.

Delicious Elixir will continue to be live broadcasted weekly on Mixify.

First show is Thursday, October 25 at 9:00 p.m. central.

It will be titled, 'Stay Classy' Tune-in, it should be a good one.

Did they have that many students clamoring to do radio shows? Sucks - but at least you found a new home. Their loss.

There is at least 10 hours each day that has no live DJ using it. They just want to kill any enthusiasm that once existed while they count their 3.4 million dollars that they made off the FM broadcast license they sold last year.

The good thing is with Mixify I can live broadcast anywhere I want to, really. As long as it has a wired Internet connection. It's actually going to be better quality than what WRVU was streaming. Cooler setup too. The only thing I'm worried about is instudio guests but we could actually broadcast straight from any venue's soundboard. Got to work out the kinks but I'm excited.

Also, I'm looking into some other radio stations in town to possibly get on. Another thing is a lot of the former WRVU dj's are looking to start a low power radio station in the center of downtown Nashville and building it up from there.

There is always pirate radio, too Twisted Evil

Many pots on the stove cookin' and simmer'n...

We'll see what sticks

Alright, after 4 consecutive trips to Guitar Center and hours of tinkering, I got my studio streaming live through Mixify last night.

You can LISTEN to the moment I realized it all was working correctly. Pretty silly stuff coming your way!

Tune-in tomorrow at 9PM central for my first show back broadcasting live.

Y'all got any old time/bluegrass/folk tunes for Halloween? I was gonna do funk tunes but I think I want to switch it up this year and just do old time. Let me know what y'all got!

Show 107 - Stay Classy

We're back just like that, Jack!

After seven+ weeks of sitting in limbo waiting for the Powers That Be at WRVU to decide that they do not want people that work for Vanderbilt to be on Vanderbilt University's radio station... we're taking our radio show elsewhere. Mixify.com, that is!

Join me every week on http://www.mixify.com/deliciouselixir for the live broadcast. We're gonna keep on doin' it. Can't nothin' hold us back.

So this whole show goes out to the Powers That Be at WRVU, stay classy!

Aired Live 10/25/12

Good to see the * by Old Crow twice!

I'm curious why the Grimes show was a disaster.

Grimes was a lot like THIS except an hour set... and the opener was even worse. The whole night was so horrible it was hilarious.

It's like a bad Karen O impersonation. At first I thought it might have been deliberately bad, like a performance art piece. Nope. It has all the signs of someone who's incredibly nervous being in front of people and can't go two seconds without 'looking busy'.

That's from someone who likes the song. Maybe more practice will help.

Show 111 - Nora Jane Struthers & The Party Line

Nora Jane Struthers & The Party Line perform LIVE at The 5 Spot in Nashville, TN. Before they take the stage, I spin a few rare Country Funk tunes to warm up the crowd. This is our first go-round doing this live in a venue so we are still working out the kinks. But once we get it worked out, it's going to be FIRE!

BIG NEWS!

Delicious Elixir is back on WRVU, Saturdays at 6|5c.

What does that mean? MORE frequent shows and MORE in-studio guests (and possibly more of me being jerked around but hopefully that is not the case)!

Even bigger news on the horizon! I can't say yet because we are still wheeling and dealing. Keep your radios dialed in and that volume knob cranked 'cause good times are ahead!
