My friends and I were picking last weekend in the wee hours, and some tired, whiskeyed out girl said "Play a lullabye." We played a hack version of WM I learned by ear, but I remember someone having tabbed this song out for Double D banjey tuning...any chance of posting that again?
This is such an amazing lullabye, especially for drunks.
Rock you in your cradle
In your carriage ride
Don't you worry baby
Be an angel when you die

while trying to learn various tunes on the banjo this one keeps surfacing spontaneously. Such a pretty melody and the fact that the words were almost indecipherable only added to the intrigue
anyone know anything about the origins of this? i've heard the angel when you die line before (Uncle Dave) but that's definitely not the source for this. |
