They always spring some nice surprise during the NYE shows. They placed several songs from the forthcoming record which is apparently already in the can.
Does anyone have any additional information? As far as, who produced, and so on? |

They opened both shows at The Ryman with "Shackled" or possibly "Unshackled", either way its a great tune.
All of the new stuff sounded great! |

Great news!! Definitely curious who the producer is on this one. Shackled sounds like a fun one, and Ketch has come a long way with his opinion of the mandolin, I see. |

I always really liked "Sheeba" that Ketch and Critter performed during their small tour. I'd be happy if that made the album. |

"Sheeba" was really cool. I hope Critter's "Hillbilly Bot" makes it. That song is what Old Crow is about to me haha. |

Hope Quebecois is in there... Actually, a lot of the "Ketch and Critter" songs would be great. |

I was hoping that they would do a Ketch and Critter album that highlighted a lot of those older songs.... but I think the time and momentum has passed. |

Yeah, maybe so. Ketch and Critter shows were wonderful in their spareness. And since they felt like a different animal than Old Crow, it didn't feel like anything was missing. |

I like to think the moment hasn't passed. Now that Old Crow has been rejuvenated and it seems like the hardcore touring is not in the equation right now, so maybe the two old friends will find themselves with a little spare time and a studio. A girl can (and will) dream. |

Ooooooh, the excitement! So looking forward to this!
I'm with Lucy and really hoped "Brave Boys" would make it on, and I'm glad to see that it has.
The Warden... is that the same song Willie sang a few years ago? I always loved it and hoped it would be on the new album at the time. I wonder who'll sing it now if it is.
AND UK dates are up too, so I know where I'll be on October 22nd |

Just bought and listened to 'Sweet Amarillo'. Loving Critter's accordion on it. So good!
Can't remember if anyone has mentioned it but Bob Dylan's people asked Ketch to finish out the sketch of a song he did during the recording sessions for Pat Garret & Billy The Kid. They did a great job finishing it up!
HERE is the sketch of Bob's |

Oh. That's the one from the album trailer that I was not feeling at all.
Still feel that way, but it took me a full 9 months to grasp the majesty of "Swanee Mountain Catfight." And I remember now feeling "Highway Halo" at all, but I ended up thinking it was lovely.
We shall see. |

Not that it's a good or bad thing, but all the snippets of songs I have heard seem drum heavy. I guess it makes sense with Corey taking a more permanent role in the band. |

I was never as averse to Tennessee Pusher as y'all, so I am not dead against the less fiddle-heavy stuff. So again I say, I'll wait and see. But that first one I actively dislike at this point. (And when it comes down to it, I do listen to Carry Back and older than Tennessee Pusher stuff most of all.)
I don't think the lyrics that imply the levity of prison are helping my liking either. Not quite the Johnny Cash swagger plus humanity re prison there, boys. |

If the conjugal trailer is an actual place I guess it would just be begging for a song about itself. I hope it is a reality somewhere.
The sound is kind of heavier than we're used to which is fine but the harmonies blur rather than inspire and Ketch has used this vocal before - I can dig it, though. It's just, well y'know - guys do the right thing and call yourselves Crow Medicine Show coz you ain't the Old Crow anymore. |

Found this on the online. Lol. That's a quote from my mom.
I'm pretty sure I heard a version of this on the Ketch and Critter tour.

Oh you're right, that was part of the tour. I don't remember it very well, though. |
