Kitty and I will be seeing them Aug. 3 in Cooperstown. We had tickets when the show was just OCMS. I can't tell you how excited I was to find out that both Spirit Family Reunion and Langhorne Slim would be playing too.

Tell 'em, Rodge. I just hope the fiddle player and B lead singer will be there.
He was missing 6 weeks ago when I saw them down by San Diego.
It was cool having Maggie sing lead on a couple, but not the same.

Hmmm, I wonder where he is?

He might be doing something for his other band Twain where he is lead, but Pete (drummer of SFR) and Ken (bass player) are in Twain, too.

Listen to their album HERE

Some really good chill folky stuff

I think Mat has left SFR.

He was also in the Low Anthem at one point, and left them to focus on SFR.

Interesting - - that was right around the time we saw them open for OCMS at Ommegang brewery (see above post). Bean said she felt like they were off... I wasn't too pleased with Maggie's voice (I think that is her name)... more screeching than singing. But ya - - that fella is pretty off. Pretty bitter.

I think the writer is proud of his vocabulary. He really likes words. Half way through a sentence, I would lose my train of thought.

That's not the same that wrote that bad review of the last OCMS album, was it? Or maybe it was the one before that. Ah, screw that dude. Haters gonna hate.

I do hate to hear that Matt isn't on the new SFR album. It's still really good though

The guy must not be that well read. I looked at a few other articles written by him. I found this gem in the second paragraph of the article:

Quote:
And certainly in music, as in all art forms, it can be. Bluegrass, arguably America’s earliest indigenous form of popular music[1], shows this better than most.

Bluegrass is arguably the earliest indigenous form of popular American music? Are we ignoring blues, jazz, ragtime, and country?? Geez Louise.

I realized I just seemed like a snooty Americana music elitist. Sorry about that, I'll see myself out.
