Good stuff, Rodge. Really dusty - especially Morgan's bass (fortunately doesn't look like his "real" one since it didn't have the TN sticker on there). Kevin is steppin' out with that look and looks like Chance got his hair cut!

It will be interesting to see what album sales are going to be for Remedy. I think it is going to be pretty impressive with all of the chatter on FB.

And, welcome back KG. All it took was a new album!

1) Ketch's lip syncing has greatly improved.

2) Heh, payphones.

3) Shouldn't you tie back your hair if you're barrel racing?

4) My mom listened to this song and tried to hear the Dylany bits. She said the "thunder a rumblin/tumble weeds tumblin'" beginning sounded more like him.

5) Adult content! Not really. This video is acceptably shiny, It looks country, but not in a bad way. Still dig this song.

6) KG!!!

Yea, I agree. I've got quite a few friends that never have gotten hooked yet by Old Crow that have been buying Remedy and asking when the next local show is. Should be a rockin time.

I definitely heard "Sweet Amarillo/You stole my pillow"

Very Happy

Also a definite change from "lied" to "cried."

Most of it's impossible to hear, though.

AMEN Brother!!! Even from Georgia, that flag would be bad-ass! Even when Georgia looses to Tennessee is a great day for me Smile

Hard to say what's the favorites.. But I will say that
O Cumberland River I
Dearly Departed Man
Warden
Are my top three.

And O Cumberland River is what the boys are all about. From picking tobacco back in the day to the modern times. To me this song is well polished and needs a video made with it. I can see a steam boat, stream locomotive, shine, gun fights lol. I love that song. and I can say this song, the crowd will be yelling and dancing WHOO!

Whew, that harmony on "The Warden," is tight. It's a great companion piece to their other albums. Picked it up at Best Buy with the coupon, and have been wearing it out. I find this one much easier to listen through than Carry Me Back.

It's weird. I've read a lot of reviews, one on Rolling Stone I believe, that point towards "The Warden" being one of worst composed tracks on the album. It's at least in my top three.

If I'm reading it right, Remedy debuted at #15 on the Billboard 200 chart, which is their best first week debut yet.

Onward and upward

I like it better still while writing a depressing column about Louisiana prisons. That's heavy indeed.

This is a great rendition of "The Warden."

I've listened to it about 20 times in the past three days.

Their Warden at MerleFest this years still brings chills to my spine. I wish they would have done is a cappella on the album, too. But still a really great, lonesome song.

No surprise there.

I posted this review on my blog:

Old Crow Medicine Show is out with a new album this summer entitled Remedy. The album kicks off with Brushy Mountain Conjugal Trailer which captures OCMS’s latest sound.

OCMS and Bob Dylan Songs

The album also includes an unreleased/unfinished Bob Dylan song entitled Sweet Amarillo. In finishing a Dylan song, Sweet Amarillo is a similar OCMS effort to their smash hit Wagon Wheel (from the O.C.M.S. album), another song that Bob Dylan had originally started writing.

Highly Recommended Tracks

My favorite tracks on Remedy are

    Doc’s Day (video below) and
    Sweet Home

Kevin Hayes Songs

Sweet Home is a Kevin Hayes number. Kevin, the OCMS guitjo player, has provided tracks on previous albums that I also like for their catchiness and humor:

Let It Alone from Big Iron World and
    Humdinger from Tennessee Pusher
