Hey, Old Mose Harper, have you heard any Promised Land Sound? They have some of that good swampy flavor. Good stuff

My bad Rodge, I just noticed this. And funny you asked this. I had just saw them open for Natural Child in Asheville. They put on the better show that night in my opinion... But Natural Child was funnier. Either way I'm ready for some new material.

Right now, The Sex Pistols. Seems appropriate on British election day.

Very Happy

Picked it up when I saw him last week. Just great. The show and the album.

I've not seen him live yet. Every time he comes around I have some obligation I can't get out of. I even planned on driving from NC to Birmingham to watch him, but that fail through. Hopefully soon.

Good stuff, folks!

Ryan Koenig gave me this cd at the last nashville Pokey show. It's hilariously great.

Howdy folks! It's been awhlie. Quiet around here, but I just came across the Down Hill Strugglers and Blind Boy Jeron Paxton and had to tell someone about it. Reminds me of some of the really early old crow stuff:

Back in college while I was at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC they played a show at Boone Saloon. A few of my friends were partaking of a certain substance with them (sorry for the wording, on a work computer). Cops came, my friends ran...Greensky didn't. They were ticketed and what not. They saw my friends (and I at this point) and were still really cool. They were glad they got away.

Sorry for the long "Cool Story Bro" story. I just wanted to tell somebody.

And while I'm posting, I've been in a soul/R&B/funk/Motown/etc. mood lately.

Obviously I am VERY late to the game, but I was introduced to Sturgill Simpson earlier this week!!!! HOLY WOW!!! As much as I love Waylon why am I just now finding out??? Apparently I've been under a rock. This dude is awesome. If you don't know who he is or haven't heard him, check him out. Is pre-solo stuff with Sunday Valley is really good too. He's 75% Waylon 15% Hank Jr and 100% old country in today's times. Yes I know it doesn't add to 100, that's because he's himself.
