How am I just now finally listening to them?

Oh man. You'll love going down this rabbit hole. That was the first album of theirs I listened to as well--my dad had it on vinyl and I stumbled across it one day while I was back home during college.

They're an obscure little American treasure. Two albums to consider:

Welcome to Goose Creek (1971)
"The Corn Won't Grow, So Rock n Roll" is a standout.

and...

The Goose is Loose (1996)
It's a live album and there is a 20 minute jam melody at the end...holy moly its good!![img]

Love me some Doug Sahm. The "Doug Sahm and Band" album is a go to for me.

RIP both of these guys:

Chris Porter (his work under the band Some Dark Holler is fantastic).

Lately I've been loving the new Nikki Lane album. I can't get enough of her voice.

Going through a hip hop stage at age 34. Too early for a mid-life crisis?

Last album is Brother Ali's "All the Beauty in This Whole Life."

With a baby, more job responsibilities, and other hobbies finding new music has taken a big hit. Would love to know what you guys are into as well.

This early Bob Dylan performance is amazing. I especially love his take on "Roll on John" here. I feel like I'll never stop discovering new old Bob.

Just listened to that whole show. GOOOOOOOOOOOODDDDDDD. Shocked

Recently found the Marshall Family. Pure authentic Bluegrass Gospel. Make your hair stand up.

Haha--I watched that one recently as well. I wish I could once be as happy as the guy is at minute 2:19.

It's such a good live album. I watched The Bear (F/X tv show) and "Saint Dominic's Preview" played to end an episode.

I know this isn't old-time or Americana, but damn this is a good album.
