Does anyone have experience attending this fest? OCMS has played here before, and are the headliners again this year. My wife and I are toying with the idea of living it up and going for the VIP package, but are trying to get more info before we pull the trigger. If anyone has any info, that would be super helpful. Thanks. |

Nice, maybe Gill is wanting to promote that new record. |

The new tunes were great! I don't know how old the songs are, but it was my first time hearing them. I think Dixie Avenue will be a crowd pleaser.
I was also really happy to see Gil with the band. When I saw the boys earlier this year doing their Dylan tour, he wasn't with them, so I was surprised he was there. He played a lot of pedal steel and sounded fantastic.
Cory had a moment in the spotlight during the middle portion of CC Rider- he came out from behind the keys to whistle the tune for a little bit. It was good, but I still love the Willie versions from back in the day better.
I'm not sure how I feel about the Dylan tunes- they're ok but I would rather hear James River Blues instead.
Palisades Park was fun. It was also my first time hearing them play it live. Kevin is such a ham when he's singing.
The set was cut short (by my estimation) because of impending storms. Rain started falling during the end of Spirit in the Sky. Ketch even announced that there was bad weather coming in and for everyone to be safe. I saw Ketch backstage after Blowing in the Wind talking to some of the Stringdusters- I think they were debating going out because of the weather, but decided to sneak in one last song. All in all a good show. |

that 'unknown coal song' is probably sixteen tons
a song i've been thinking about recently, as near here in the uk they are rebranding social security (welfare etc) as 'Universal credit'.
"Whadya get?" I hear you ask |
