There’s a really nice version of “Birmingham Mill” here.
I was never quite sure what Willie was doing on banjo with this song, but I got a better look this time - he’s picking in a two-finger style with the thumb leading - it’s a style of old time banjo playing that I think has a cool sound. He’s using both the first and fifth strings as drones (with his index finger and thumb) and picking out the melody with his thumb.
I’m gonna tab it out or post a tutorial video on YouTube in the coming weeks when I get it down.
