The "Grateful Dead" never covered that one. |

That'd'a been Weir's "Corrina"... Not a cover of Dylan's "Corrina, Corrina". |

Jerry Garcia Band has done Corrine Corrina the Dylan Cover, I have it on a bootleg, They do Lay Lady Lay/Corrine Corrina..
The dead (The Other Ones) have a song called Corrina..
http://artsites.ucsc.edu/GDead/agdl/cori.html
Words by Robert Hunter; music by Mickey Hart and Bob Weir
Copyright Ice Nine Publishing; used by permission
Corrina .............Wake it up baby
Corrina ............. Shake it on down
Corrina .............Corrina .............
Hog of a Sunday
Dog of a Monday
Get it back some day
What'd I say?
Movin' in closer
Cut from a long shot
Fade on a down beat
Ready or not Corrina ............. (as above)
Cruise thru a stop sign
Loggin' up short time
Bird on a phone line
Soakin' up sun
Salt on the crowtail
What can I do?
I'm down by law
But true to you Corrina .............
If, what, where and when
Told at the proper time
Big black wings beat at the wind
But they don't hardly climb
There's a silver ocean
Silver clouds and silver sea
A bird on the horizon
Silver wingin back to me Corrina .............
Wake it up baby
Shake it down easy
Bring it back someday
What'd I say?
Movin' in closer
Cut from a long shot
Fade on a down beat
Ready or not Corrina .............
Corrina / wake it up baby
Corrina / Shake it down easy
Corrina / Shake it on up now
Corrina / Shake it back down Corrina .............
If, who, how and why
don't mean that much to be
long as it don't hurt too much
believe we'll let it be
Outside major darkness
where the circle is complete
there is no fear that lovers born
will ever fail to meet
Corrina .............Wake it up baby
Corrina ............. Shake it on down
Corrina .............Corrina ............. |

Yeah - that was Weir's "Corrina" I mentioned above. The Grateful Dead played that from its debut in 1992 through 1995.
I am interested to know the date and provenance of this "Garcia Band" bootleg. To my knowledge, Jerry never played "Lay Lady Lay" with any of his proper side-bands. He did play it with NRPS perhaps a handful of times in '69. "Lay Down Sally", on the other hand, was frequently in JGB setlists in the 90's. |

I'll dig it up, but your right about the NRPS comment, Jerry welcomes Marmaduke to the stage and they play Lay Lady Lay (Dawson does the singing, Jerry backing) and then a band comes in and they play Corrina Corrina.. Not sure if its a genuine life track or if the Corrina Corrina is added in right after Lay Lady Lay.. I got it in Bonnaroo from some dude a campsite over. |

NICE. I would love to hear that. I love that period. GD & NRPS! Oh, for a time-machine!
I am with you on the thought that that "Corrina, Corrina" is added. To my knowledge, it was never covered by the New Riders. Fillers are nice until they become disassociated with their information - then they become a "wtf??" |

I hope I still have it, and agree I love GD and NRPS and I would have loved to have seen NRPS open for GD.
I hope I still have that cd, I've been away from home for 2 years so my sister may have it somewhere |
