Does anyone know "I never cared for you" by Willie Nelson? It has a kind of Flamenco feel but the lyrics could work:
I know you won't believe these things I tell you,
no you won't believe
Your heart has been forewarned all men will lie to you, And your mind cannot conceive
Now all depends on what I say to you and on your doubting me
So I've prepared these statements far from true
Take Heed and disbelive.
The sun is filled with ice and gives no warmth at all
the sky was never blue
The stars are raindrops searching for a place to fall
and I never cared for you
The sun is filled with ice... And I never cared
for you I never cared for you |

i would like to hear the boys do "rock salt and nails" but not in the standard bluegrass way that you hear. i'd like to hear them do it the more bluesy ala joe ely way, and make it so fuckin sad you want to cry.
also, seeing the recent pics of willie, i think he would do a killer "almost cut my hair" by csny |

Well, you are identifying things as they are.
On other occasions, folks use comic book code. You know, *, #, and things. |

Seth Avett does a decent version of it. Ol' boy needs to learn all the words to it a little bit better though! |

Things (Bobby Darin) would be a good one to cover - maybe with some adapted lyrics ... |

hey brodank...look... another stereotypical smirk and upwards gaze...
And sticking with the topic, I'd like to hear Tuesday's Gone but have harmonica instead of geetar.... |

Wouldn't that be AKA "Untouchable Face"? A less controversial designation, certainly, and one of my absolute favorites of Ani's.
BTW, the version on Live in Clip is leagues above the studio version if you haven't checked it out already. |

Last night I saw BeauSoleil with Michael Doucet. One of their encore numbers was Fall on my Knees.... cajun style! It was awesome to hear it en francais!!!

C'mon people!! This is suppose to be strange covers!
I think a hopped up version with high harmonies of Prince's "Kiss" would work.
I do one with my set and its footstompin and hilarious.
Although, Gitjoe, everytime i hear soul rebel it really reminds me of Wayfaring Stranger and i think Willies high howl would fit it. |
