Sugar Hill
(Traditional)

Key of D, probably capo 2 and play C form for guitar.

Key of D
|D|D|D|Bm| -|D|D|A|D|
C form chords
|C|C|C|Am| -|C|C|G|C|

D....................................................................Bm
Five cents in my pocket change, ten dollars in my bill
D.............................................................A
If I had five cents more I'd climb old Sugar Hill.

If I had no horse to ride I'd be found a walkin
Up and down that rocky road to hear my gal talkin.

Jaybird and the sparrowhawk, they had a little fight together
They fought all around the briar patch and never lost a feather

When Willie did this song with The Evil City String Band, they put in:

"If you want your eye knocked out, if you want your fill,
If you want your eye knocked out go to Sugar Hill"

I like to add this too when I do it.

Excellent, let me know how it plays for you.

Here is a little sound clip of me playing it for demonstration.

I guess you could use Megaupload or something like that to upload and share a link. Pittsy and I have been using that a good bit.

Goods stuff man, sounds real nice. It's great how we can play a song that's going on 200 years old and it's still rockin'!
