Speaking of Pokey LaFarge records, his first vinyl release was a split wit Joe Manning on Karate Body Records.

It's still available, but from what I have been told there are less than 50 copies remaining.

buy 'em now if you want 'em!

Where can I find the Evangelist record?

Aye, that's a nice wee song on that split 7" called Anita. Well worth getting. And the packaging plus white vinyl look great!

Pope - Evangelist should have their online store up and running some time soon, otherwise, I'll gladly pick one up for you at one of the shows, if it's the 45rpm you're after. If you want the 78rpm, it will be out after they play Scotland, but I'll be seeing them again at the start of May, so could get you one then. Lemme know Very Happy

Take a look at the personnel on that, and all will be revealed Very Happy

I do have it yes, but can't see it there. Is it possible I have the Dutch version(there is a Dutch adress on the back)

I would like to have both. I will keep my eye on the webstore. If you see them before then, please get them for me. I will either pay you back or trade something [a release from here or something?) for them.

Thanks!

I'll gladly do that! I'll get them for sure if I come across them before the webstore sells them, and we can work something out Very Happy

Got mine in yesterday. It's the heaviest piece of vinyl I have ever seen or held. Reminds me of those old 78 rpm shellac records. 4 dollars well spent!

It's nice, isn't it! Lovely quality!

By the way, I haven't got either of Evangelist singles yet. They thought the 45rpm would be out before the 78, but both of them only just went on sale last night at the show, and I won't be seeing them again before the beginning of May. But if they go on sale online before that, I'll get them for sure.

Or maybe Katie can get them for ya, I'm sure she's going to the Brighton show tomorrow? That way, you'd get them quicker Very Happy If not, I'll let you know what's what, as soon as I can find them for sale somewhere.

I can probably pick up copies for you. Not 100% sure if they're going to be in sale tomorrow night - the answer I got was a bit ambiguous!

Everything I have seen (which isn't much) says they are Record Store Day releases.

I asked Evangelist records on Facebook and they said they "might be". Want me to pick copies up for you if they are?

OK. Do you want the 78 and the 45? I'll PM you if I get them. Do you want me to get them to sign them if they're happy to oblige? Very Happy

You are too cool! I would love the 45 and the 78. Signatures are not a priority, so you can surprise me if they are!

Thank you so much!

So finally got a moment to upload photos from the Brighton show on Wedensday night.

Wow they were on fire! Super enthusiastic audience too. That may go down as one of, if not the best gigs I've ever been to. They were lovely as ever coming out after the show to chat. Sounds like they are going to be back in the UK again in October and then again next Spring. They must love it here!

A search of the Hackensaw Boys facebook page (under former members) spells it out for you.

Pokey and the Boys are sounding really good on Jack White's new album!

Can't wait to hear what it sounds like!! EDIT - just listened to the stream. Wow! Sounds great!

Also, Evangelist Record's store is now up here, and they're taking orders for the boys' record as well as new releases from CW Stoneking and Blind Boy Paxton.

Pokey and the boys' release is WELL worth getting! The vocals on Fan It sound so good! Really sounds like it was all recorded back in the days. No endless echo and multi-tracking etc etc. That old equipment Lewis uses lends itself so well to the boys' playing and singing.
