Is that because they were using a cell phone at a concert, or because they went to see that pinhead? |

Did you all get your tickets when they went on sale this morning?
This could be a magic night. There are no Old Crow shows scheduled
so there could be a full sized Machine with Sam Bush added on mandolin. |

It does sound like an awesome show, but I just can't make the drive on a Wednesday night. Too bad. |

Gillian Welch and Jackson Browne with the Watkins family, that's a great night. If only it wasn't a five hour drive with work the next day....tempting though. |

The Old Crow boys are going to be tired come the end of June. Last time they were on the road this long Willie grew two inches. |

Well, Merlin, it turned out to only be a four hour drive to Hollywood last night. The Watkins Family hour at the Coronet was a blast. I saw Stevie Wonder walking down the street on my way in. Ed Helms came out to do the introductions, but didn't play his banjo during the set, dammit. Jackson Browne and Gillian were there along with Dave Rawlings, Benmont Tench, and four more musicians (bass, drums, guitar, banjo) so with Sara and Sean there were ten people on stage at times. If you came to hear your favorite Gillian or Jackson song you were out of luck. The only DRM song was He Will Set Your Fields On Fire played at a frenetic pace with Dave frailing away at his banjo and singing Ketch's lines in the chorus.
I was not sure how Jackson Browne would fit into the Bluegrass Situation but when he launched into Man Of Constant Sorrow with Dave and Gillian on harmonies it worked just fine, and his duet with Sara on Love Hurts was magic. It was worth getting home at 3 AM and surviving work today. Tonight I sleep with fiddle tunes in my head. |

dang mang, I wish! My gal got us tix to My Morning Jacket months before they announced this show. OCMS are doing somewhat better at announcing their shows a head of time but still could be a little better and let us know more in advance. |
