That was in Santa Cruz and I have not seen video of the incident, but it is burned into my memory forever. |

I just thought I should let every one here know that Kitty actually raved about this performance of Sweet Tooth. |

And an excerpt from another blog:
And there was another 'way to[o] drunk guy at a concert' incident... Right before the show started, an intoxicated, stumbling man jumped up on stage and pretended to check the mikes (all 4 of them, hello, security?) before falling over backwards, taking out a table (not the one holding 4 fiddles, thank goodness), and bashing into Morgan Jahnig's beautiful upright bass. He lay on his back for a full minute, unable to get up, before security finally decided to do something and promptly escorted him out. |

Wow! Sounds like a good time. The best part of any show is watching the drunks. |

Yeah, I don't hit it very hard anymore either. A really cold beer when working outside during the summer and some around the holidays. Although here lately I've had a hankering to burn a little something I haven't in about 18 years. But I'm more of a wuss now than I was back then so I doubt I'll scratch that itch. |

Back to the topic at hand, I finally got to see one of these Machine shows the other evenin' - sans Willie of course, but Gabe did a real bang-up job filling in. That Hot Corn, Cold Corn is awesome - Ketch be gettin' down real low. What a fine show. And what a fine picker DR is - that arch-top has got such a crispy sound. |

Just listened to that set - brilliant! I love Mumford & Sons so wish I had been there for that one!
Mumford rumoured to be playing Open House Festival in Belfast, so with any luck we'll get a repeat performance! |

Wow! Morgan got to sing? I've always wanted to hear that!
I was also at the Boston show where the drunk guy took out Morgan's bass. The collective groan from the crowd was amazing. I don't think anyone could believe how long it took security to notice. Thankfully he didn't fall into the table of Ketch's fiddles! On a brighter note, it was one of the best concerts I'd been to. They made the comment once that we were cheering so loud that the sound guy was plugging his ears! It was an older crowd, but a very nice one...not much shoving and not too many overly inebriated people...except of course the guy who was escorted out before the show even began! |
