It was announced yesterday over on the Festivarian Forum that OCMS will be playing at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival this year.

Wonder if the wife will let me go again this year?

From the Denver Post:

Sarah McLachlan, Steve Earle, Old Crow Medicine Show and others have joined previously announced artists such as Robert Plant, Emmylou Harris, the Sam Bush Band, Bela Fleck and the Original Flecktones, the Decemberists, Yonder Mountain String Band and many more on the lineup for the 38th annual Telluride Bluegrass Festival, taking place June 16-19. Tickets are on sale. ($185 for four-day pass, bluegrass.com)

School ends on the 15th... I'm tempted to run away to the mountains for some rest and relaxation.

This festival has always been a temptation for me... but just too much work-wise in June. But maybe someday!!

I was able to go last year to Telluride for a couple days. We didn't go into the main festival but hit a couple of the Nightgrass shows (Carolina Chocolate Drops and Punch Brothers). Also hit the Elks Park for free shows. Lots to see and do in Telluride without spending $$.

The hiking is fantastic. Lodging can be done fairly cheap too if you like to camp. If you prefer better lodging, you are porbably looking at $150/night.

It is an amazing atmosphpere during the festival and the scenery is like none other. Go if oyu have the chance.
