yeah i wonder what those old cartoonists were on - they have a lovely sense of movement built in.
we're gigging pretty much every saturday and often fridays as well although it's a bit quieter jan/feb - we had a weekend off a while back which was handy coz our singer broke her leg. It's a bit worrying - that's the second broken leg in the band since we got together!!

i should say the recording is live in a 5m square shed via a Yeti condenser mic and we're still trying to figure out where best to put everyone. Especially that resonator guitar! it's tricky recording into one mic!

I loved watching that! I'd say you did just fine with one mic in a small shed, sounded great.

Fabulous!

And yes, I think it sounds just fine with the one mic. Seems to be very nicely balanced.

I listened to this before your comment about the resonator, to say how much I liked the playing. And I think wherever you placed it in the shed, it seems to work well.

thanks missyjay, we're going back in the shed on Saturday to experiment with micing each instrument though we'll have the room mic running too. it 'll be interesting to compare what we get. Thanks for the feedback.

haha - nice find A-pope. Personally I'd like a radio edit of that track or another verse or something?
Anyways it was a pleasure to participate and not least because it was the first time i ever came across the Spirit Family Reunion whose Woodie song is wonderful.

Thanks Chigger - it's a fun tune to play alright. Smile
Bean - thank you. We'll try and get some more live video up for you but it's hard finding someone with a magic camera round here! been playing whiskey the last few gigs - sometimes as a waltz - it's great seeing the old folks waltzing to it at 2 in the morning!

This song has recently been adopted by various pubs as a contender for the new Irish National anthem ...

btw if you listening to the pre-amble Hazel is three years old and dances like cool has only just been invented
