Willie had to cancel at the last minute for our Holiday Road Show...
but he will be at our first winter GRASSROOTS FESTIVAL
Willie Watson will appear with one of his early mentors, RICHIE STEARNS, who may just be the best banjo player on the planet, and ROSIE NEWTON, who is one hell of a fiddle player...filling out the group will be the other members of Richie Stearns' Ithaca old-time group "THE EVIL CITY STRING BAND"

I can't post links yet but there is a nice video from this event on youtube. The first song is instrumental and after that is Willie singing "Rock, Salt and Tears." It's labeled Evil City String Band 2-12-2012 at Virginia Key Grassroots Festival.
And there is a short clip from Willie and the WPA on the cruise. I'm not sure of the song. The videographer is far away from the action so not a lot to see but the audio is great. It's labeled - WPA with Willy Watson. |
