Believe it or not folks this ones an original - written by the men themselves, Ketch and Rob St. Ours - apparently at the Little Grill in Harrisonburg, VA. Imagine it was in rotation during the time of the Route 11 Boys.
Below is a video of "Military Man" being tried out after 20 some years. The lyrics are hard to make out...but the chords are pretty straight forward. C/G/D - if you wanna spice it up throw in a C7 and mess around with that pinky finger when changing chords - giving it a ?sharp?minor? sound.
"He's a military man decked out in leather
Five ? in the war - he dont know no better
They pulled him straight out of Georgia
?Drove a tractor for his man? or ?Trade a tractor for his land?
He's a military man, got ?poor ? ? ? self ?something?
He's a military man, he got love in his heart
This a war for ?a friend?, got, and we all gotta do are part.
He's goin in to dark places, routin the enemy out
When he see's their faces, he gotta scream and shout
He's a military man decked out in leather
Five ? in the war - he dont know no better
They pulled him straight out of Georgia
?Drove a tractor for his man? ?through his cane? or ?Trade a tractor for his land?
He's a military man, got his ?poor ? ? ? old self ?something? to blame
He goin way down to georgia, why dont you be my friend
We're gonna march through Savannah - look at the pretty women
Well they call you brother - you wont wear no crown
The cars one death trap, now i'm gun'n you down
He's a military man decked out in leather
Five ?daughters? and a war - he dont know no better
They pulled him straight out of Georgia
?Drove a tractor for his name? or ?Trade a tractor for his land?
He's a military man, got his ?poor ? ? ? self ?something? to blame."
The Route 11 Boys perform "Military Man" at the Little Grill Collective in Harrisonburg, VA on January 14, 2012.

Nice one. Hadn't heard it before. Some of those lyrics are tough to figure. |
