I dont know if any of you are Redditors, but did anybody see that Wagon Wheel was on the front page all day? More people than I thought know it from Darius Rucker, rather than Old Crow it seems.  |

I don't think the Rucker version is too bad... I'll listen to it when it comes on the radio.
I think it was a matter of time before someone had a hit with the song, since it's already a standard of every country/rock/folk group out there.
I've been wondering, though, what would have happened if Old Crow had re-recorded a Troubles version of the song, all plugged in with some nice steel guitar. I think it would have been close enough to what's on radio to possibly be the one that charts. But I think Rucker's version is serviceable, anyway.

Though I do have to admit, singing the song in Raleigh does have charm....
