The boys said in Augusta, GA back in October they were hoping to have it out by Christmas. Anyone know when this will be released?

There goes my theory on why their hasn't been alot of tour dates posted or played so far this year. I thought they haven't been touring hard mainly because they wanted to have the album done before hitting the road hardcore. Ah, maybe they are slowing down a bit just to rest some. After all they have been on the road for pretty much 5 years straight. Any word on the EP?

:( no Caroline on the new album. dammit. That's the one I was really hoping for - especially since they took it off the official site. They need to come back to the UK so I can have words with them!! it's just not good enough! Smile

For what it's worth, over at emusic.com they have OCMS in the "coming soon" section. Now whether that means really *new* or maybe they're getting Eutaw or Live (right now they only have OCMS) ... who knows?

Code:
COMING SOON

    * Madlib
    * Cocteau Twins
    * Old Crow Medicine Show
    * Lambchop
    * Josh Rouse
    * Young People

Great site for independent music, by the way... lots of old-time, bluegrass, & newgrass there. If anyone wants a link for some free D/Ls send me a PM with your email and I"ll send you a link.

Whats the story with the EP, anyway? I only saw a brief mention of it here. Live?? Studio?? Tracks?? Anyone got the skinny?

I think that Old Crow and Outkast are in a race to see who puts out their album last...

Man, you into Outkast? They are definitely a breath of fresh air in hip hop. If you dig em, you need to check out Gnarls Barkley, its the DangerMouse with Ceelo. Only reason I know about them is because of DJ DangerMouse... Same dude that mixed the Beatles White album with Jay-z's Black Album. I taped a show of his at Bonnaroo 2004 and it seriously flipped my wig! haha. Anyway, I'll hush up before the music purists get me. Razz

Thanks for the info Rodge. I've always got my ear out for some new Outkast info. Good thing I live in the ATL, because they usually drop their singles here first. And Rodge, you are lucky because you are in Nashville and go to live music all the time.

Rodge,

I didn't notice the mp3 link in there originally. I looked all over the outkast stankonia.com board and all i got was someone's posting of the radio recording (like we did back in the 80s).

Go figure, the ocms board gets the single before the stankonia.com board...!

just saw the track listing for "BIG IRON WORLD" www.cdnow.com

1. Down Home Girl
2. Cocaine Habit
3. Minglewood Blues
4. My Good Gal
5. James River Blues
6. New Virginia Creeper
7. Union Maid
8. Let It Alone
9. God's Got It
10. I Hear Them All
11. Don't Ride That Horse
12. Bobcat Tracks

And like I thought Let it alone is on there, looks like a good selection of tracks, nice to have some studio tracks of these.

Cocaine Habit is different than Tell It To Me.

Man, I was hoping for "Heart Up In The Sky" as well. Nice to see "my Good Gal"... That's the thing, they have what a 100+ covers and traditionals they can rock and a couple dozen great originals... I guess it's hard to trim the fat come pickin' time. They definitely could drop a couple of double albums and have some to spare.
